Matthew K. Flynn, M.D.
Dr. Matt Flynn is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and former Stanford University Chief Resident in Dermatology. He is from Oakland, California. He attended Harvard University on scholarship from the Walt Disney Foundation, majoring in applied math. He later went to Duke University Medical School. While there he received the Thomas Jefferson award for best student in his class Dr. Flynn completed his internship at University of California San Francisco and residency in dermatology at Stanford. He served as Chief Resident in Dermatology at Stanford his senior year. After his training he worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for two years before returning to the Triangle. Dr. Flynn is also the volunteer dermatologist for Wake County’s Department of Pediatrics, where his wife is a pediatrician.

Beth A. Schulz-Butulis, D.O.
Dr. Beth Schulz-Butulis is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994 with a B.S. in Biology from Texas Women’s University.  In 1998, she graduated from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Schulz-Butulis completed a transitional internship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 1999. In 2002, Dr. Schulz-Butulis completed her dermatology residency at the Army’s premier training facility, Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Following completion of residency, she served on the dermatology residency teaching staff at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and was the Director of the Laser Clinic for two years.  In 2004, Dr. Schulz-Butulis was reassigned to Fort Benning, Georgia as Chief of Dermatology at Martin Army Community Hospital.  She served on the teaching staff for the Family Practice Residency and the Army Physician Assistant training program at Fort Benning.  She completed her Army service obligation in July 2006.

Dr. Schulz-Butulis joined Family Dermatology in August of 2006.  Her areas of special interest include general dermatology, pediatric dermatology, surgery, patch testing for contact dermatitis, and cosmetic dermatology.  She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the North Carolina Dermatology Society. 

Dr. Schulz-Butulis resides in Wake Forest, NC with her husband and two children. 

Kelly T. Blount, Physician Assistant

Mrs. Blount received a Bachelor of Science at Pepperdine University in 1997 and graduated from the Saint Louis University Physician Assistant Program in 2001. She has been practicing dermatology for over five years. Mrs. Blount is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, the North Carolina Dermatology Society, and the Triangle Dermatology Association.

Mrs. Blount, a native of North Carolina, is married to Jim Blount and has two children.  She enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Ginger E. Smith, Physician Assistant
Ginger Smith received a BA in Bio-Health Sciences from Gettysburg College.  She graduated from the Duke University Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Health Science degree.  Mrs. Smith is a certified Physician Assistant who holds memberships with the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.  Her clinical interests include general dermatology, acne, and atopic dermatitis.
Mrs. Smith lives in Raleigh with her husband Peter and their son.  She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
