Michael McCann was raised in the mountains of North Carolina in Hendersonville, NC. He started his medical career by becoming EMT certified at the age of 17 while still in high school. Michael then furthered his medical education by serving in the North Carolina National Guard for 11 years initially as a medic, then as a Medical Service Corps officer after graduating from NC State University and completing their ROTC program. He received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Elon University in 2022, and worked in primary care in Fayetteville, North Carolina prior to moving back to Raleigh and specializing in dermatology. He is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). During his free time, Michael likes to relax and unwind with a good game of chess, or by chasing a new lifting record at the gym.
